Meet Katharine O'Connell
An experienced forensic genealogist, Katharine assists attorneys and major banks in locating missing and unknown heirs. She has provided due diligence research in over 200 probate and title cases in locations throughout the United States and internationally. Clients include attorneys throughout the state of Ohio and the trust departments of Key Bank and PNC Bank. She regularly does pro bono research for the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland.
Dr. O'Connell regularly publishes in law and bar journals and is in demand as a speaker on the subjects of forensic genealogy, finding missing people and awareness of laws concerning consumer DNA. She serves as a mentor to others in her field and is chair of the mentoring committee for the Association of Professional Genealogists, Forensic Section.
Dr. O’Connell is a professional affiliate member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Association of Professional Genealogists, and the National Genealogical Society. She is a licensed private investigator through Phoenix Investigations and Security, in Ohio.
